Choosing the fabric weight

Cotton fabric is sold by weight. Lighter fabric usually costs less and folds small. Heavier fabric holds its shape and carries more.

  • 4.5oz to 5oz (135 to 140gsm): the standard cotton shopper, light and low cost.
  • 8oz (220gsm): a step up in weight, still a soft canvas.
  • 10oz to 12oz (310 to 370gsm): heavier canvas totes and shoulder bags.
  • 16oz (510gsm): heavy canvas for premium retail bags.

If you are buying a large quantity at the lowest cost, we usually point buyers to the 42 x 38 cm cotton shopper with long handles. It is the cheapest bag we make and the one we make and sell the most of.

Handles and finishes

You can choose:

  • Handles: self-fabric, cotton webbing, cord or rope, and leather on selected canvas styles, long or short
  • Finish: gussets, zippers, inner pockets, lining, dyed bases and handles, and laminated canvas on selected styles
  • Colour: natural cotton, or dyed bags, gussets and handles

Branding your bag

We print and embroider cotton bags in our own unit. The methods are screen printing, digital printing and embroidery. Our design team can help prepare your artwork and send a mock-up before we make a sample.

Cotton takes finer detail than jute, so you can use more colours and smaller text. Send artwork as a vector file in AI, EPS or PDF format, and tell us the colours you need.

Who buys our cotton bags

Most of our buyers are importers and the people who buy stock for promotional product companies overseas. We also supply brand owners and small wholesale buyers in India. Price, MOQ and lead times

The price depends on the fabric weight, the size, the handles, the colour and your branding. We confirm the exact price in your quote.

Export orders start at 1,000 pieces per design, with a minimum total order of 5,000 pieces. Domestic orders start at 500 pieces per design, with a minimum of 1,000 pieces. Samples take 7 to 10 days. Samples without printing are free, and printed samples are charged. Production takes 30 to 60 days. We ship on FOB, CIF, DAP and DDP terms. Custom sizes and shapes are possible. Quality and certifications

When fabric arrives from the mill we check it against what was ordered. Every finished bag is then checked by hand. We hold ISO 9001:2015, a SEDEX audit, OEKO-TEX and GOTS certification. Which certificate applies depends on the fabric and the order, so tell us what you need and we will confirm.   • The number of colours to be printed

What is the minimum order for cotton bags?

For export, 1,000 pieces per design with a minimum total order of 5,000 pieces. For domestic orders, 500 pieces per design with a minimum of 1,000 pieces.

Canvas is a heavier cotton fabric. Our cotton shoppers use 4.5oz to 5oz fabric. Our canvas bags run from 8oz to 16oz, which makes them stiffer and stronger.

For the lowest cost on a large order, choose the 5oz cotton shopper. For a more premium feel, choose 8oz to 12oz canvas. For heavy retail bags, choose 16oz.
